Since receiving an art scholarship from my high school in 1991, I have broadened my portfolio with a variety of mediums including paintings, charcoal drawings, photography, sculptures and digital arts.  In regard to my paintings, I lean toward bright colors and abstraction, pulling inspiration from music and my surroundings as I apply the pigment to the canvas.  In contrast, I try to keep my charcoal pieces more realistic while making an effort to depict emotion in the subjects that I draw.

My career as an artist has ventured down many different paths, from set design and scene painting for a community playhouse in Indiana to assisting an art director on a country music video in Nashville, TN.  In 2008 I was awarded Best in Show for a charcoal piece I submitted into the Annual Englewood, CO Art Show and I have recently been commissioned to produce some abstract paintings for a law office in downtown Denver.

My love for the arts and the appreciation for, not only my own work, but the work of other artists has led me to return to college to pursue a Master of Fine Arts.  With the additional education and degree, I hope to one day share my love of the arts with the community as a working artist and museum curator.
